Where has the Summer Gone!

Sorry it has been a while since I posted. As normal we have had a busy and crazy summer. We have been remodeling the upstairs since the great bathroom flood in May so that has kept us busy along with the kids. Five years ago today I was in the hospital waiting delivery of the quads. This was the day I talked poor Dr. Tabor into letting me go home as long as I promised to stay in bed and stay on my monitor. Since it was just a few days before Brent and Bradley's Birthday. I bet he never let's another woman convince him to let her go home when she is 28 weeks pregnant with quads. The next day prove to be an adventure with me being sick as a dog all day and having awful back pains. But the monitor only showed irratibility so I did not have to go back to the hospital. By the morning of the 12th things where very different I was on my way to his office and was told I was going nowhere unti those 4 babies where born. I remember sitting in his office trying to convince him to take 20 week quads becuase I was so HUGE and miserable (refer to the picture in a previous post) Well he admitted me and much to his dismay he delivered 4 babies later that night. Marshall was born first at 8:40pm weighing 2lbs. 10oz. 14 inches long, then came Miles, he made a grand entrance showing everyone that his bladder worked just fine and even got to squirt Dr. Tabor. He was born at 8:41 weighing 2lbs. 14oz. 14 1/2 inches long. Then was our first precious girl Mckenzie born at 8:42 weighing in at 21bs. 1oz 12 1/2 inches long. Then came the our final baby girl Madyson the smallest weighing 1lb 14.7 oz and was 12 inches long. Madyson was so small that the preemie pacifiers they had where to big so my dad bought her a special preemie pacifer from the gift shop. Today has brought back many memories of the two days to come. We had all of their parties yesterday at Hawiian Falls and they all had a blast. I will share pics when I have a chance to upload them. We will be having a family party of Tuesday for the big 5 year olds, as they tell me, and Andrew and I will also be celebrating our 13 year anniversary. I don't know which is scarier the fact that my babies are not babies anymore and are going to start kindgergarten or the fact that we have been married 13 years!!

Mayfest 2008

Once again it has been a while since I blogged. Sorry everyone!! To catch everyone up in March I had emergency surgery for an internal hernia and a twisted bowel, which was caused from me loosing weight, 114 lbs. to be exact. My hernia was leaking and causing me to become septic. I was admitted immediately after I saw the surgeon and put on antibiotics and scheduled for surgery the next morning. I came home that day and began the recovery period. During that time I decided it was time to go back to work. I began work the middle of March working as a marketer for a company that does MRI's. Four days into work I doubled over in pain and went back to the ER. They at first could not get me out of pain and it took about 12 hours to get pain meds in me that eventually started cutting the pain. They came to the conclusion that I had a partially twisted bowel and if I did not get better I would be having surgery again. After having 2 different types of xrays and contrast I finally started feeling better and the twisted bowel corrected itself. Thank GOD, I was not looking forward to another surgery. Since then I have been doing very good and I am enjoying working. I miss being with the kids but it is good for us to have a little break from each other during the day.
This past weekend our "Little Princess" Madyson preformed at Mayfest and was so cute. I am of course partial but you have to admit she looks so cute in her frog costume. She will preform again on May 17 for their final performance for the year. She loved her costume but she really enjoyed getting to put make-up on. She got to wear "RED" Lipstick along with blush, eyeshadow, and mascara. She told me today that in 2 weeks she gets to wear make-up again and she gets to wear "MORE" since she will be performing on stage. She heard her teacher tell us that at our meeting to get her costume. Funny how they hear the things you really don't want them to hear. After her performance she changed into regular clothes and we walked around and enjoyed Mayfest. All 5 of the kids got to go fishing, not my favorite thing to do, but they all enjoyed that. Then we moved on to the kids area where they had a blast playing and making crafts, Madyson even got to have her fingernails painted. That was a big hit with her. Bradley and Brent enjoyed the Science area, and really enjoyed gettting to make slime and launch rockets. For a day that started out cold, we all had a great time.
Finally I would like to ask you all to say a prayer for my friend Robyn's sister. Terra has been in the hospital for the past week and they thought she was going to get to come home today but she has taken another turn for the worse. Her liver enzymes are elevated and the doctors can not figure out why. Last week her kidneys where also failing and she was on dialysis. Terra is only 26 and currently has a walker because she is too weak to walk on her own. Please just keep her whole family in your prayers as they go through this difficult time.
I am hoping to get some family pics taking here in the next few weeks as long as every stays well and the weather cooperates. I will post those as soon as I get them done.

Some Fun Pictures

Today I was organizing some pictures on my
computer and came across some that I thought I would share. I
also get the question how big did you get carrying quads? Well here you go, this
was taken as I was being wheeled down to the OR to deliever them.

Photobucket

Yes, I was huge!! I felt like I was going to POP! I was not
that big at 37 weeks with Bradley and Brent.

This is the first time I got to hold Mckenzie. My aunt took this picture and had it enlarged and put in a frame with roses from Mckenzie's funeral. It is a very special photo that I will cherish forever.

My dad is
multi talented!! This was the little guys first Christmas and since we could not
take them to see Santa, so Santa came to visit us.

Next
up,one of my all time favorites of my dad. This was in July 2004 at Disney
World with my parents. Stitch really liked my dad!

This has to be one of my favorites of
Brent and Bradley. I took this at the park when they were just over 2. I
actually entered it in a contest and it was published in a book.

This one was taken at the same time. Bradley stepped on a
something and Brent sat down to look and figure out what it was. It was so
cute.

She may have been small but her lungs worked
just well. This was shortly after Madyson came home. She was 11 weeks old
and she is wearing doll clothes. Yes, I said doll clothes. Preemie clothes
literally fell off of her so one day while at Costco I found these cute doll
clothes and we played dress up.

My dad got the privalge of Baptising his older 3
grandchildren all in the past 1 1/2. I know it was a special time for him
as it was for the rest of us. I look forward to the day he can baptise the
younger 4.

And to end the famous Bluebonnet pics. I am
allergic to bluebonnets and found out after taking a wonderful pic of Bradley
and Brent when they were 2. So I braved the elements with benadryl in tow
so that I could get a pic of all the kids in the bluebonnets. Bradley and
Brent were 4 1/2 and Miles, Marshall and Madyson were 8 months old. I am
hoping I can get another bluebonnet pic this year. Hopefully I can stay
out of the bluebonnets and still take the picture.

I hope you enjoy the pics! I was fun looking back on how much everyone has grown, or shrunk, in my case. I bet you did not know a stomach could stretch that much. Well it can and will never do it again.

Sorry It has been so long!

I know I promised to be better at updated the blog and I am sorry. As you know I am going to school fulltime and the last 10 weeks I have had 2 math classes that have required more work out of me than any other class I have taken towards my degree. Anyway, my last math class is coming to an end and I am so thankful. If I never see another quadratic equation it will be too soon.
We have had some major changes over the past month as far as school goes with the boys. After a very much prayed about descision we decided to take Brent and Bradley out of public school. They are both at the same private/homeschool that Miles, Marshall and Madyson, and are doing great. They both read on a 8/9 grade level and are both doing mostly 4 grade work. So they got to skip the rest of 3rd grade and move onto 4th. On many things they tested on higher grade levels but being only 8 1/2 we did not want to put them in the higher levels. It is a self paced program so they can acclerate to advanced levels at their own pace. They have both finished most of their first books and have moved onto their next paces (workbooks).
It is a different experience for all of us but we are adjusting and I am enjoying spending the quality time with all 5 of them. They have a great teacher and they all love her and her school.
With the change I am helping out at the school almost everyday and loving it. It is hard work but it is very rewarding.
Today we had a visit to the Fire Station. Brent and Bradley did not get to because they where sick but the three little ones had a blast. Mommy had fun also! I got to wear one of the fireman's hat. I also found out they have citizen's fire academy, I got the information and I really want to do it, so if things work out you might see me climbing the ladder of a ladder truck!! That would be a site considering I am scared to death of heights. But who knows it might make me over come that fear.
So here are some pics from our days activities.

Madyson and Mommy! So what do you think, Does she look like her mommy? That is what everyone tells me.
Photobucket
Marshall enjoyed geting in the Fire Truck. And who does he look like. Well we like to call him Larry Junior. He is a splitting image of his Pepaw, Andrew's dad.
Photobucket
Miles keep us on our toes. Like always. At one point one of the garage doors starting coming up and we all looked around to see who had opened it. Well it was not Miles or any of the kids. It was just one of the ambulances coming back. That was a huge relief. Can you guess who he looks like? Well he is a splitting image of his daddy. And he acts like him too. Poor Mommy! Just kidding.
Photobucket
Finally, I got to get in the fire truck, and I got to put the helmet on. The kids thought that was funny.
Our next adventure is the post office and in the near future I am going to do a ride along with my friend's husband who is a sheriff deputy. That will be FUN!
And finally our Christmas pic. I know it is almost March and I am just now putting it up. Better late than never!

Update on things going on around here!!

Hi everyone! Sorry it has been a while since a post, as you can see by the date I started these a while ago and just never got it posted. We have had a lot of things happen around this house and family since October.

I will start with the beginning of October. Andrew and I went to Black Mountain, North Carolina for his sister Sallie's wedding. We had a great time and enjoyed some time away from the kids. Our trip home was fun. We were delayed for 4 hours at the Greenville/Spartanburg Airport due to bad weather here. We finally got to leave and then hit turbulence about an hour outside of Dallas. It was so bad that my laptop was shaking and I could not read it. I had never flown on that small of a plane and never plan to do so again.

Once we got home the true fun began. We had to finish packing our house for the big move down the street. Now Andrew thought this would be an easy move since we literally were going down the street. NOT!! This was the hardest move I think we have ever done. In the meantime, while in the car driving on Monday October 29, Brent asked Jesus into his heart. That was just what a parent needed to hear after a really rough day. That was also the day that Andrew was let go from his job. Talk about a rough time. We were both very nervous that the mortgage company was going to do a last minute check on employment but his official last day was not until after we closed so that was good. We closed on the 31st then came home and waited for the funding to go through so we could get the key. In the meantime I had a cold and I layed down so that I would be ready for Trick or Treating. Well around 3 we got a call from the title company, the mortgage company had messed up on some paper work and we were going to have to close AGAIN!! I am not kidding! We went back on the 1st at 3:00 and closed again. In the meantime the kids enjoyed going Trick or Treating and here are some pics of them.

This morning Santa made an early visit to to our house and brought us our new addition to our family. Yes, we must be crazy but the kids are really enjoying our cute little butter ball. After a long discussion from Miles about naming him Raggedy Andy, the kids all decided to name him "Charlie" Now since discovering Charlie this morning I have been told by Marshall that Santa needs to bring us another puppy because we need two, and Madyson has decided he needs to bring a Cat. I have assured the all that Santa would not be bringing anymore animals to this house!! The three ones have finally settled down a little and let the poor Charlie lay down and take a nap. I caught all three of them reading him a book, but was only able to get a picture of Miles reading. Notice his clothes, a long sleeve shirt, shorts, and dress shoes. He dressed himself and told me that was what he was wearing today. He obviously gets his sense of taste from Andrew!! LOL!!
